Career

Intern to CTO, and the road after it.

Five roles across four years, most of them concurrent, all of them remote. Read it for the promotions rather than the titles: intern to CTO at TYNCAD in six months, intern to full-time at Encentrals in seven, and intern to apprentice at HNG in two. I am currently at The Cozm and Robex at the same time, which is normal for contract frontend work and worth saying rather than leaving as two overlapping dates.

  1. The Cozm

    Frontend Developer

    Building modern, responsive interfaces in Next.js, React and TailwindCSS with a focus on accessibility, scalability and cross-browser compatibility.

    Working with backend engineers on REST integrations, and owning debugging and performance work, load times, responsiveness, and the general cost of a page.

  2. Robex Technologies

    Frontend Developer

    Period

    Feb 2024 – present

    Responsive web and mobile applications in Angular and Ionic. The one number I can point at: code-quality and performance work here cut load times by 20%.

    Concurrent with The Cozm, both roles are genuinely active, which is normal for contract frontend work and worth stating plainly rather than leaving as two overlapping dates.

  3. HNG Tech

    Frontend Developer

    Joined the HNG internship, a large, deliberately competitive programme with heavy attrition, in July 2024, and was promoted to Frontend Developer Apprentice that September.

    Built and optimised complex interactive UI under genuinely short turnarounds. The value of the programme was the pace: it compresses a lot of shipping into a few months.

  4. Encentrals Solution

    Frontend Developer

    Apr 2023 – May 2025

    Started as an intern in April 2023 and was promoted to full-time frontend developer in November 2023, seven months.

    Took ownership of complex frontend work: responsive interfaces for cross-browser compatibility, API integrations with the backend team, and the debugging that resolved the UI and accessibility problems nobody else wanted.

  5. TYNCAD

    Web Developer → CTO

    Jul 2022 – Aug 2024

    Intern in July 2022. Full-time in October. CTO in January 2023, six months from starting.

    As CTO I led the development team and architected the stack: Angular on the front end, Django behind it. That meant owning technical direction and prioritisation, not just writing the interfaces, and learning the difference between being responsible for code and being responsible for other people's code.
